Winter stroll at sunset acrylic painting & Cabin in the Mountains by CK

I painted these a couple days before Xmas, and gifted the first to my Aunt, uncle and cousin. The second was to my grandmother and grandfather.
The second winter scene chills you to the bone looking at it, but the first is a warm winter scene that makes you feel good. Enjoy!

I will have to retake this pic sjnce it's too blurry to see details

DIY Natural Woodland Birdhouse holiday gift idea

Here I have a bird house with glued sticks and bark. The process took about an hour, and I believe used almost four glue sticks to piece together all the materials I collected from outside. This is going to my grandmother for a holiday gift. She actually asked for a birdhouse--little does she know I didn't just go buy one. Although I did buy the "house" to glue the pieces to; but all the wood I collected from the yard.

This is a perfect craft for kids or anyone that loves crafts in general, including bird watchers/enthusiasts.

Holiday gift painting "Backyard flower garden" by CK

Hey, everyone. I'm still making holiday gifts. This painting isn't really a gift I'm personally giving, but I'm getting paid to make this for someone else to give as a gift.
I made another painting which I will show you in my next post. Of course, you can always look at all my paintings at my Deviantart and tumblr pages.

Holiday DIY card craft ideas with old buttons

these buttons are older than me & I wanted to use them since my papaw found these in his shed

I repurposed the buttons to make holiday cards for family

using glue dots "zots" the buttons will stick to the card

decorate the buttons in all sorts of ways
I made the buttons as ornaments or as wreaths, and there are more ideas for button card ideas on pinterest. Go to my previous post to see other holiday craft ideas I have been doing. I will be making arts and crafts throughout the season, so I will keep you posted.

Making Deco Mesh Wreaths for the holidays (gift ideas)

The first picture is a foam tree decorated with buttons held by sewing pins. I found this craft on Pinterest as a holiday activity to decorate with or gift. I also used pinterest to get ideas for the wreaths as well.
Over the last couple of days I have made five wreaths that I wanted to show you. Some of these I will be giving away as gifts for family members. I am keeping the wreath I am holding in the picture, and the last one I am donating for a charity auction.

Paintings by Cassie Kinney

Here are the paintings I done for family. I'm satisfied with most of them, and I am especially proud of the landscape painting of different deciduous trees.

Working on homemade gifts

My goal is to do four paintings to give to family as gifts for the holidays. The family portrait will go to my aunt, uncle, and cousin. And one painting will go to my grandma and grandpa, and one to my other grandma, and one to my dad and his wife. My mom, boyfriend, and siblings will not get paintings as gifts, because I never get them anything for the holidays anyway--and really, it's because these are the people that actually don't want to celebrate a capitalistic holiday affiliated with a fear-based-homophobic-misogynistic religion.
But like I said, I confess to making crafts for the holidays, such as potpourri, ceramic bowels, rock paintings, and canvas paintings. The potpourri was actually from found materials outside, like pine cones, sumac berries, pine needles, cedar wood shaving; and I found the glass jars in the woods too.
If you're interested, you can see the crafts I made last  year for the holidays in this post: 7 free last-minute holiday gifts.
Below are the paintings I have finished and will be giving away as gifts.

And here I have finished a painting of a flower garden and outhouse. This painting is of one of my grandmother's backyard, and so I am giving it to her for the holidays.

I bought these items for myself, but the yoga magazines, Dr. Bronner's hand sanitizing spray and lavender soap would also make great "stocking stuffers".
